Joy Fleming
Joy is our National Director. Joy joined the team in April 2025 having previously worked with The Leprosy Mission GB as Deputy Head of Programmes. Joy has a background in biomedical R&D. We’re delighted to have her leadership in this new season.

Our Trustees
The Leprosy Mission Northern Ireland is governed by a Board of Trustees who provide strategic oversight, governance and advice for our work across Northern Ireland. Our Board members are all volunteers and bring a wide variety of different experience and skills to our work.

Chairperson – Miss Judith Carson

Judith has served on the board since 2019, and before that served as a volunteer speaker since 2007. Judith’s has a big heart for those affected by leprosy and has been on a number of missions trips with The Leprosy Mission. She wants to serve and contribute her gifts and skills to see leprosy defeated and the lives of those affected by leprosy to be transformed. Judith works with adults with learning disabilities and is a worship leader in her local Church and a former GB Captain.

Honorary Treasurer – Mr Jim Caples

Jim has a breadth of experience working in finance in the charity sector in Northern Ireland and in the developing world, including roles in Sudan, South Sudan and Pakistan. He is a qualified accountant and hopes to use his experience and learning, to date, to benefit TLM NI. He hopes to explore new avenues of funding as well as build upon current income streams. He loves how your money goes further to help the poorest of the poor in the developing world where people are living on as little as $2 per day. Jim believes it’s a privilege to be part of a Christian charity where individuals from different denominations across Northern Ireland are working in harmony for the greater good.
